Separately, Republican lawmakers in Arizona are calling for a new investigation into an alleged bribery scheme involving state contracts and political donations. The controversy involves Sunshine Residential Homes, which reportedly donated approximately $400,000 to the Arizona Democratic Party and an organization linked to Hobbs’s inaugural festivities. Following these donations, the company received state rate increases that could result in millions of dollars in additional revenue.

While Attorney General Kris Mayes recently declined to file criminal charges after a two-year investigation, critics point to the omission of statements from former Department of Child Safety officials in the final report. These officials had previously raised concerns regarding the justification for the company’s rate increases and alleged bribery attempts.
