Arizona infant kidnapping case resolved after 200‑mile search

An 11‑day‑old baby boy was abducted from his mother’s home in Surprise, Arizona on July 31 by his father, who had no custodial rights. Surprise police alerted state authorities, and a coordinated response involving the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office and Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers was launched.

Law‑enforcement officers intercepted the suspect’s vehicle near Winslow, about 200 miles north of the kidnapping site, on Saturday.
