Arizona man attacked by 100,000 Africanized killer bees

A man in Arizona was swarmed by an estimated 100,000 Africanized honey bees while using a weed whacker around an outdoor love‑seat. The bees had built a large hive inside the furniture, and the disturbance triggered an aggressive response. The homeowner, identified only as Ronaldo, received 30‑40 stings before a neighbor hosed him off.

Bee‑removal specialist known as “Killer Bee Guy” filmed the incident and later removed the hive, noting multiple queen cells that indicated an active, reproducing colony. The specialist warned that the hive posed a hazard to people, pets and wildlife and advised against DIY removal. The event highlights how invasive Africanized bees can nest in human structures and the risks they pose when disturbed.
