Arizona semiconductor boom drives $109 billion investment, 26k jobs

A fiscal‑year report from the Arizona Commerce Authority shows that a surge in semiconductor activity has prompted companies to announce more than $109 billion in new projects across the state. The same report projects the creation of roughly 26,000 new jobs between July 2025 and June 2026, making the period the most successful for economic development in Arizona’s history.

The influx of capital reflects the rapid expansion of semiconductor manufacturing facilities in the region, which has in turn spurred growth in related industries such as water infrastructure, mining, plastics, and food processing.

State officials attribute the boom to aggressive incentives and the strategic location of Arizona’s industrial hubs, positioning the state as a key player in the national chip supply chain.
