Arizona State defeats Oklahoma State 2-1 in soccer

Arizona State University secured a 2-1 victory over Oklahoma State University at Neal Patterson Stadium on Friday night. The win marks the Sun Devils' first victory against the Cowgirls in Stillwater since September 2014.

Sierra Bergen opened the scoring for Arizona State in the 21st minute after a corner kick from Miki Hayashi was headed by Lucy Fazackerley. In the 82nd minute, freshman defender Gator DeMark extended the lead with a 24-yard shot that found the top-left corner of the net.

Oklahoma State attempted to rally late in the match. Following a handball in the penalty area, Laudan Wilson converted a penalty kick with only 50 seconds remaining in regulation to narrow the deficit. Despite the late goal, the Sun Devils held on for the win, improving their conference record to 3-3-1.
