Arizona State hockey wins season opener; UNLV prepares for series

Arizona State University hockey opened its 2026-27 season with a 5-0 shutout victory against Lindenwood. Sophomore goaltender Samuel Urban set a program record for the most saves in an opening-night shutout, turning aside 37 shots. The Sun Devils' offense featured scoring from five different players, including newcomer Olivier Houde, who scored against his former team.

Meanwhile, UNLV hockey is traveling to Tempe to face Arizona State in a season-opening series. The Rebels, who reached the national semifinals last season, enter the matchup looking to improve their road performance against the Sun Devils. UNLV captain Dillon Kuntz and senior forward Mason Kelly are expected to play key roles in the series.
