Arizona State sweeps Colgate in volleyball home opener

No. 7 Arizona State swept Colgate in three sets (25-10, 25-12, 26-24) during the Colgate Volleyball Classic in Hamilton, N.Y. The Sun Devils improved to a 3-1 record, while the Raiders fell to 1-3.

Arizona State dominated the first two sets, outhitting Colgate .345 to .095. Junior outside hitter Una Vajagić led the Sun Devils with 14 kills, marking her 11th consecutive match with double-digit kills. Freshman Elle Mottola recorded 26 assists and four blocks, while libero Piper Rama set a career high with three aces.

The third set was highly competitive, featuring seven lead changes. Despite a late push by Colgate, Arizona State secured the set 26-24 to complete the sweep.
