Arizona State University athletics highlight program culture and legacy

Arizona State University (ASU) athletics programs are highlighting their long-standing cultures and legacies. The Sun Devils volleyball team has maintained its competitive standards despite significant roster turnover. Following the graduation of six players, the team integrated 10 newcomers, including five transfers and five freshmen. Led by coach JJ Van Niel, the program enters the season as a favorite for a third consecutive Big 12 title with a 9-2 record.

In women's soccer, the program is celebrating the 30-year legacy of its inaugural 1996 Division I team. The original squad, which lacked established facilities and a stadium, built the foundation of the program through rigorous training. This early effort eventually led to the team reaching the NCAA Tournament in 2000.
