Arizona State University expands US-Taiwan technology talent initiatives

Arizona State University (ASU) has announced initiatives to establish a transnational technology talent pipeline between the United States and Taiwan. With an annual research and development budget of $1 billion, the university is positioning itself to support the shifting semiconductor supply chain and the growing tech ecosystem in Phoenix, Arizona.

To deepen these ties, ASU signed a Memorandum of Understanding with National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University to focus on semiconductor technology, biomedicine, and medical engineering through joint research and dual degrees. Additionally, ASU’s Thunderbird School of Global Management recently hosted a delegation from Taiwan’s Ministry of Education to explore AI applications and the Arizona semiconductor landscape.

Separately, ASU has been ranked as the number one most innovative university for the 12th consecutive year by U.S. News & World Report. The university also received top national rankings for its undergraduate supply-chain management program and various student experience metrics.
