Arizona State University launches accelerated three-year education degrees

Arizona State University (ASU) has launched its first three-year bachelor’s degree programs in education. Developed by the Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation, these programs are believed to be the first of their kind for education degrees offered by a public university in the United States.

Students can choose from accelerated paths in Elementary Education and Special Education. Both programs meet Arizona teacher certification requirements and are available through online and in-person formats. The curriculum is designed to provide affordable and flexible options for students with varying life circumstances while maintaining clinical preparation and academic quality.

According to Carole Basile, dean of the Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation, the programs aim to make high-quality educator preparation more accessible to meet the needs of future educators.
