Arizona State University Launches AI and Legal Tech Studio

Arizona State University's Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law has opened an AI and Legal Technology Studio, directed by Sean Harrington. The studio, which welcomed its first cohort in the fall of 2024, provides law students, practicing attorneys and other legal professionals with hands‑on training in artificial intelligence and emerging legal technologies.

The initiative aims to translate rapid AI advances into practical tools and curricula that improve access to justice. Through a partnership with the Maricopa County Courts, students will work on projects ranging from court‑efficiency solutions to public legal education, targeting tens of thousands of Arizonans. Interim dean Angela Banks highlighted the studio’s alignment with ASU’s charter to advance research and public‑value outcomes.
