Arizona Western Launches Spanish‑Language Electrical Certification Program in Wellton, Arizona

Arizona Western Entrepreneurial College announced a new occupational certification program in electricity that will be taught entirely in Spanish at the Wellton Manufacturing Training Center. The "Fundamentals of Electricity" curriculum covers safety, personal protective equipment, multimeter use, series and parallel circuits, AC and DC current, RLC components, transformers and single‑ and three‑phase motors. Classes run on Monday evenings from August 17 to December 4 for the fall semester, with a second semester offered in spring for students who wish to complete the certification.

The program requires no prior experience or formal education in electrical work, aiming to expand training opportunities for the Hispanic community in the region. Upon completing two semesters, participants receive an occupational certificate that can enhance job prospects in the electrical field. Interested individuals can contact Miguel Ríos at miguel.rios@azwestern.edu for more information and enrollment.
