Arizona Wildcats defeat NAU 35-7 in season opener

The Arizona Wildcats opened their football season with a 35-7 victory over the Northern Arizona University Lumberjacks at Casino Del Sol Stadium in Tucson. Quarterback Noah Fifita led the offense, completing 22 of 29 passes for 262 yards and two touchdowns, including scores to Tre Spivey and Brandon Phelps. Fifita also moved into second place in school history for career passing yards during the performance.

Running back Kedrick Reescano contributed two 1-yard touchdown runs, while Antwan Roberts Jr. added a 14-yard touchdown. The Wildcats' defense dominated the matchup, holding NAU to minus-7 rushing yards and recording five sacks against quarterback Ty Pennington. The only score for the Lumberjacks came via a 36-yard interception return for a touchdown by Noble Young-Blackgoat in the fourth quarter.

This win marks Arizona's fifth consecutive season-opening victory under head coach Brent Brennan. The team now prepares for a highly anticipated matchup against BYU in Provo, Utah.
