Arjun Sharma arrested in Agra for US murder case

Police have apprehended Arjun Sharma, 26, in Agra in connection with the murder of Nikitha Godishala, a 27-year-old data analyst living in Ellicott City, Maryland.

According to Howard County police in the United States, Godishala was found dead with multiple stab wounds in an apartment in Columbia, Maryland. Authorities believe the death occurred around December 31, 2025. Sharma, Godishala’s former roommate, had allegedly fled to India following the incident.

Lalaguda police in Hyderabad traced Sharma to a flat in Agra while investigating a separate cheating case filed by Godishala’s father. Following his apprehension, central authorities were notified of the outstanding non-bailable warrant from the United States. Sharma was produced before the Patiala House Court in New Delhi and remanded on August 25 in connection with the murder case.
