Cathie Wood's Ark Invest Boosts SpaceX and Tesla Stakes While Rebalancing Portfolio
Ark Invest, led by Cathie Wood, increased its exposure to SpaceX after the company’s shares fell about 45% from the June 2026 IPO peak. The firm purchased roughly $21.3 million of SpaceX stock across its funds, bringing the holding to about 4.5% of the ARK Innovation ETF. Ark also added to its Tesla position, buying around 160,000 shares worth $50 million following a 15% price dip; Tesla now represents roughly 8‑10% of the ARKK ETF. Wood publicly named Tesla and SpaceX as her top AI stock picks, emphasizing their roles in robotics, autonomous vehicles and satellite‑based AI infrastructure.
In parallel, Ark trimmed its stake in design platform Figma, selling 718,303 shares for about $14.4 million, and reduced exposure to ATAI Beckley. The firm used the proceeds to acquire biotech and AI‑focused companies, including 361,253 shares of Scribe Therapeutics for $5.4 million, as well as positions in Compass Pathways, Kodiak AI, Pony AI, X‑Energy, BitMine and a Solana staking ETF. These moves reflect a broader portfolio rebalancing toward high‑growth, AI‑related sectors.
