ARK Invest sells Palantir and AMD to boost Archer Aviation stake
ARK Invest, led by Cathie Wood, has adjusted its portfolio by selling significant stakes in Palantir Technologies and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) while increasing its position in Archer Aviation. The sale of Palantir shares was valued at approximately $6.54 million, and the AMD disposal was worth about $9.9 million. These moves represent a profit-taking strategy on prominent AI-related stocks.
Simultaneously, ARK Invest purchased 575,700 shares of Archer Aviation, an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) company, for roughly $3.35 million. This brings ARK’s total position in Archer Aviation to nearly 31.96 million shares, valued at approximately $151 million as of the second quarter of 2026.
Separately, Cathie Wood defended Bitcoin's long-term potential, describing it as a “hedge against deflation” during an ARK podcast. Despite ARK recently selling more than 1.5 million shares of its Bitcoin ETF, Wood argued that Bitcoin “has many lives ahead,” particularly as AI-driven deflation and rising interest rates could create counterparty risks for banks.
