ARK Investment Management seeks SEC approval for tokenized fund shares
ARK Investment Management LLC has filed an application with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to introduce a tokenized share class for its ARK Venture Fund. The proposed class would utilize distributed ledger technology to track ownership, allowing for trading on SEC-registered alternative trading systems and peer-to-peer transfers between approved wallets that meet KYC and AML requirements.
An SEC notice published in late August 2026 indicates that the process is currently in a notice and hearing period rather than a final approval stage. The Commission has set a deadline of September 18, 2026, for any requests for a hearing. An order granting the requested relief will be issued only if no hearing is ordered by the Commission.
