Arkane Lyon faces November 13 deadline to find buyer
Arkane Lyon, the French developer behind 'Dishonored' and 'Deathloop', is facing a potential closure by Microsoft if a buyer or partner is not secured by November 13. The deadline marks the end of the consultation period required under France’s Florange Law, which mandates that large companies seek alternative solutions before proceeding with mass layoffs.
Approximately 217 jobs are at risk. The studio is currently developing 'Marvel’s Blade', a project union representatives claim is nearing completion. Microsoft has stated it is actively seeking a partner to support the next phase of development and ensure the game's commercial release.
While the proposed closure was communicated to staff in July following broader Xbox restructuring, industry reports suggest multiple acquisition options are being explored. Some analysts indicate that a full shutdown may no longer be the most likely outcome as negotiations continue.
