Arkansas Cinema Society unveils Filmland 2026 lineup in Little Rock

The Arkansas Cinema Society announced the full program for Filmland, the state’s premier film festival, scheduled for August 12‑16 2026 in Little Rock. The lineup features new titles such as Josh Loeb’s romantic comedy *In Spite of Ourselves*, Josephine Decker’s coming‑of‑age drama *Chasing Summer*, Joe Swanberg’s wilderness romance *The Sun Never Sets*, and the high‑school sniper drama *Mouse*. A special 40th‑anniversary screening of the Zucker brothers’ classic *Ruthless People* will also be presented.

Academy‑award winner Matthew McConaughey will receive the Variety Legend & Groundbreaker Award and will appear in a Q&A after the premiere of *The Rivals of Amziah King* with Jeff Nichols. The festival is partnered with the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts and is headlined by the Tyson Family Foundation, whose president John R. Tyson said the collaboration “cultivates and advances the arts in Arkansas.” Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau CEO Gina Gemberling highlighted the event’s economic impact, noting it creates jobs, supports local businesses, and raises the city’s cultural profile.
