Arkansas Game and Fish Commission announces meetings and deer season open houses

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) has announced several upcoming meetings and public events. Commissioners are scheduled to meet on August 28 at the Natural State Private Lands Expo in Benton, and on August 29 at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock for the Arkansas Outdoor Hall of Fame Inductees Reception and Banquet.

In preparation for the 2026-27 deer season, the AGFC will host two open houses in September to assist hunters with deer management and local developments. The first event will take place on September 1 at the University of Arkansas Cossatot Community College in De Queen, and the second will be held on September 8 at the Sheridan REC Center.

These open houses will feature experts from the AGFC’s Private Lands Habitat Program and the National Deer Association to discuss food plots and the Deer Management Assistance Program. Additionally, representatives from Arkansas Hunters Feeding the Hungry will discuss deer donation programs, and officials from the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation and the Army Corps of Engineers are expected to attend the De Queen meeting.
