Arkansas opens Food Hall of Fame nominations as Alberta hosts agritourism tour

The Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism has opened nominations for the 2026 Arkansas Food Hall of Fame. Now in its tenth year, the program recognizes restaurants, proprietors, and food-related events that contribute to the state's culinary identity. Categories for nomination include Restaurateur of the Year, Food-Themed Event, Gone But Not Forgotten, and the People's Choice Award. Nominations are being accepted online through September 30.

In Alberta, Canada, the Territorial Agrifood Association and the Town of Fort Smith hosted an industry tour of local farms and food producers. The event included seven stops and a farm-to-table dinner designed to showcase the agricultural potential of northern regions. Participants visited various locations, including Fort Fitzgerald, to observe small-scale production and interconnected supply chains within the sector.
