A high-speed police pursuit in Arkansas resulted in a serious accident involving an uninvolved elderly couple. According to the Arkansas State Police, a driver attempted to evade a checkpoint on Interstate 555 near Trumann, reaching speeds of approximately 210 km/h.

During the chase, a state trooper performed a PIT maneuver to force the fleeing vehicle to stop. The SUV overturned, and both occupants sustained serious injuries and were transported to a hospital.

The suspect was taken to the Poinsett County Detention Center following medical evaluation. Charges facing the individual include fleeing from police, second-degree assault, criminal damage, dangerous driving, and drug-related offenses.
