Arkansas Razorbacks gear up for new season with soccer exhibitions and quarterback competition

Arkansas soccer coach Colby Hale said his Razorbacks are “hungry” as they head into the 2026 season, noting a strong core of returning players and promising newcomers. The team will host exhibition matches against Kansas City on July 17 and travel to face Memphis on July 20 before opening the season against Baylor on Aug. 12.

In football, the Razorbacks’ quarterback spot is the focal point of offseason scrutiny, with the wide‑receiver group also under the microscope. Coaches are weighing options such as KJ Jackson, AJ Hill, and veteran CJ Brown, while newcomers like former New Mexico State receiver Donovan Faupel and transfer Jamari Hawkins are being evaluated for their ability to stretch defenses.

Both programs aim to improve on last year’s performances and contend for SEC titles, with the soccer squad picked second in the preseason coaches’ poll and the football unit seeking consistency at key positions.
