Arkansas State Police trooper filmed punching passenger during arrest
Video footage from an Arkansas State Police traffic stop in Blytheville has gone viral, showing Trooper Theodore Henderson breaking a vehicle's rear window and pulling a passenger out by his dreadlocks. During the arrest, Henderson was seen punching the passenger, 23-year-old Tedrick Washington Jr., twice.
The incident followed a high-speed pursuit on August 19, which began when the driver, 25-year-old Adonerus Johnson, allegedly accelerated to 130 mph after being clocked speeding. Following unsuccessful attempts to stop the vehicle, police used tactical vehicle interventions to immobilize the SUV.
Johnson, who was identified as the driver, was charged with felony fleeing and DWI after testing positive for alcohol. Washington, a former college basketball player who was a passenger in the vehicle, was charged with obstruction of governmental operations and resisting arrest. Washington has stated he was cooperating with authorities and is preparing legal action.
