Arkansas voters show support for three of four ballot proposals

A recent Talk Business & Politics-Hendrix College poll of over 1,200 likely Arkansas voters reveals early positions on four ballot proposals referred to the public by the state legislature.

Respondents showed strong support for Issue 1, the ‘Citizens Only Voting Amendment,’ which would restrict voting to United States citizens, with 60% in favor. Issue 2, a constitutional amendment defining the right to keep and bear arms as a ‘natural, fundamental, and individual right that shall not be infringed,’ received 67% support. Issue 4, which would allow the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission to issue up to $500 million in bonds for water-related infrastructure, also saw 66% support.

In contrast, voters appeared divided on Issue 3, a constitutional amendment regarding the creation of economic development districts. The poll showed 37% in favor, 25% against, and 38% undecided. The survey was conducted on August 11th and 12th with a margin of error of +/- 4.7%.
