Arkia restores direct flights between Israel and Morocco

Arkia has restored direct air connectivity between Israel and Morocco with the inaugural non-stop flight from Ben Gurion Airport to Marrakech-Ménara Airport on August 19, 2026. This marks the first regular direct service by an Israeli carrier since flights were suspended in the autumn of 2023 due to security reasons.

The inaugural departure was attended by high-ranking officials, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Minister of Transportation Miri Regev. The reopening of the route aims to revitalize tourism and eliminate the need for travelers to use European hubs like Paris or Madrid for transit.

The Tel Aviv-Marrakech route will operate twice weekly using single-aisle Airbus aircraft, with an estimated flight time of approximately six hours. The resumption follows months of technical coordination between civil aviation authorities and security services in both nations.
