Şarköy receives 9,400 square meters of new public parks and squares
The Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality has completed extensive renovation and landscaping projects in the Şarköy district, opening approximately 9,400 square meters of new public space for residents.
The project focused on three main locations: Türkan Bebek Park, Özgürlük Park, and Cumhuriyet Square. These areas were redesigned to provide safe play zones for children, sports facilities for youth, and social gathering spots for families.
In Cumhuriyet Square, a 2,800 square meter area was renovated, consisting of 1,930 square meters of hard ground and 465 square meters of green space. To address climate change and water conservation, the municipality implemented a xeriscape approach, selecting plant species that require low water consumption and maintenance. The green areas are supported by automatic irrigation systems to ensure efficient water usage.
