Armadale police investigate death of man following suspected firearm incident

Police Scotland is investigating the death of a 35-year-old man in Armadale, West Lothian, following a suspected firearm incident. Emergency services were called to a residence on Harestanes Road at approximately 11:50 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, where the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are exploring a potential link between the death and a car fire reported around 12:00 p.m. in the nearby Netherhouses area. While the fire was extinguished without injury, Detective Superintendent Michelle Findlay of the Major Investigations Team stated that officers are keeping an open mind regarding the connection between the two events.

Additionally, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended a separate blaze at a derelict building on Wotherspoon Crescent later that evening. Forensic officers and emergency crews remained at the Armadale scene to conduct inquiries.
