Armando González's four‑month goal drought continues for Chivas and Mexico

Armando "Hormiga" González has not found the net since 5 April 2026, when he scored a brace against Pumas while playing for Club Deportivo Guadalajara (Chivas). The goalless run now totals almost four months and 515 minutes of combined play for the club and the Mexico national team.

During the current Liga MX season he has completed six straight matches without scoring, and with the national side he logged 59 minutes across pre‑World Cup friendlies and World Cup group‑stage appearances (including a brief cameo against South Africa) without a goal. The drought has drawn concern as he prepares for the upcoming league match against Puebla on Friday 31, before the Leagues Cup begins.
