Armani family disavows unauthorized biopic “Armani: The King of Fashion”

The Armani family and the Armani Group have officially stated that they did not authorize or support the upcoming biographical film about fashion designer Giorgio Armani. In a public statement the company clarified that it had no involvement in the project’s development and dissociated itself from any content of the film.

The movie, titled “Armani: The King of Fashion,” is being directed by Oscar‑winner Bille August and produced by Andrea Iervolino, with a screenplay by Bobby Moresco. It is intended to trace Giorgio Armani’s life from his youth in Piacenza to the founding of his fashion empire in 1975, but the lack of endorsement from the designer’s family raises questions about the film’s credibility and public reception.
