ARMAP calls for dialogue to protect Peru's gastronomic micro-enterprises

The Association of Restaurants and Related Micro and Small Enterprises of Peru (ARMAP) has called for the immediate establishment of a National Working Group. The association is requesting dialogue with the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), the National Superintendency of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat), and the Congress of the Republic to address the stability of micro and small enterprises (MYPEs) in the gastronomic sector.

ARMAP emphasizes the importance of having clear, uniform rules and predictable tax criteria to help family businesses maintain formality, preserve jobs, and continue investing. The association highlighted the role of Law No. 31556, known as the ‘Ley Nano Guerra’, which was designed to aid the recovery of restaurants, hotels, and tourist accommodations affected by the pandemic.

To ensure continued sector recovery, ARMAP has proposed three main actions: implementing clear and uniform rules for all MYPE restaurants nationwide, creating dialogue mechanisms to review cases before business continuity or employment is threatened, and ensuring legal security for companies operating in good faith.
