Armed attackers burn two trucks on Tuxpan–Tamiahua highway

Armed individuals intercepted and burned two dump trucks on the Tuxpan–Tamiahua highway near the community of Sabanillas in northern Veracruz. The attackers reportedly blocked the vehicles and forced the operators to descend at gunpoint before setting the trucks on fire.

The incident caused a total blockage of traffic in both directions on this strategic route. Emergency responders, including firefighters, arrived to combat the flames, but the vehicles were completely consumed. Security forces from the Municipal Police, State Police, Mexican Navy (Semar), and the Mexican Army secured the area and deployed preventive patrols.

The State Attorney General's Office (FGE) has launched an investigation to identify the perpetrators and determine the motive. While no injuries or arrests have been reported, the attack has caused significant disruption to commercial and tourist transit in the region.
