Armed attacks kill two men in Ecuador on June 10

In Esmeraldas, a man later identified as Samuel Bonagas was shot dead while travelling in a gold‑colored vehicle on Manabí and Libertad streets near the Technical University Luis Vargas Torres. Police quickly cordoned the scene and began forensic and investigative work to determine the motive and identify the shooters.

Later the same day, a second man was gunned down on the road to Samborondón in Guayas province, at kilometre 14.5 of the Miguel Yúnez Zagia avenue near the north alternate bridge. Witnesses reported the victim received about 20 shots, causing traffic to be halted for several kilometres while criminal‑scene teams and police conducted investigations.
