Armed clash in Istanbul's Esenyurt leaves vehicles riddled with bullets, no injuries

Late on 17 June 2026, an armed confrontation unfolded in the Esenyurt district of Istanbul. Around 00:30‑01:00, a group on motorcycles entered Balıkyolu Mahallesi (522 Sokak) and was met with gunfire from an unidentified car and a minibuss. The two groups exchanged fire, and the shots struck numerous parked vehicles and nearby businesses. Security‑camera recordings captured the exchange in detail, showing the motorcycles being shot at, retaliating, and both sides fleeing the scene.

Police and crime‑scene teams arrived, sealed the street, collected many empty shell casings and reviewed the video footage. Authorities reported no injuries, and a broader investigation is under way.
