Armed confrontation in Sinaloa leaves one person injured

An armed confrontation between members of the Secretariat of Security and Protection and a group of armed civilians occurred near Terrero de Los Guerrero on the Mexico 15 International Highway. The incident, which took place around 12:15 PM on Thursday, reportedly involved security forces pursuing a vehicle from the Mocorito area.

During the exchange of gunfire, two vehicles—a white Nissan Kicks SUV and a Dodge Charger—sustained damage. The suspects reportedly deployed tire spikes on the road, causing damage to at least one cargo truck.

Paramedics from the Red Cross treated one man for serious gunshot wounds, who was subsequently transferred from a hospital in Guamúchil to a facility in Guasave. While unofficial reports suggested a fatality, authorities have not confirmed any deaths. Security forces from three levels of government mobilized to the scene, but no official information regarding arrests has been released.
