Armed Groups Conduct Violent Robberies and Kidnappings in Southern Mexico

In Ciudad Caucel, three men in military‑style clothing forced their way into an Oxxo store, threatened the cashier with a firearm and stole cash and merchandise before fleeing in a gray vehicle. State police responded, but no arrests were reported at the time.

In the settlement of El Palmar, Calakmul, a group of armed men captured four people, beat them and shot one during an attempted escape. The victims were later abandoned with multiple injuries near Xpujil. Authorities continue investigating both incidents, and three individuals linked to the Calakmul attack have been detained.
