Armed Man with Knife Invades Chiang Rai School, Police Detain Suspect

An armed man carrying a knife entered a rural school in Chiang Rai, Thailand, causing panic among teachers and students. Police from the Phan Police Station, led by Captain Wichian Suriyachan, quickly secured the area and coordinated with local officials and community guards.

The 38‑year‑old suspect, known locally as Thanakrit (also called Bank), fled to his home adjacent to the school but was surrounded and detained without further violence. Authorities noted his documented history of mental health issues and transferred him for medical treatment rather than standard incarceration.
