Cancún: Two men injured in armed attack in Valle Verde

Two men were injured in an armed attack in the Valle Verde neighborhood of Cancún, Quintana Roo, on Thursday night. The victims, who were standing in front of a residence, were targeted by two individuals traveling on a motorcycle.

The attack triggered a "Código Rojo" (Code Red) protocol, prompting a large-scale mobilization of the Municipal Police, the National Guard, the Army, and emergency medical services. Authorities recovered approximately 10 shell casings at the scene, suggesting the use of a 9mm short firearm. Both victims were stabilized and transported to the General Hospital for medical treatment.

Local investigations are ongoing to identify the perpetrators, with preliminary lines of inquiry pointing toward potential disputes related to local drug trafficking.
