Armed operation at ISSET hospital in Villahermosa leads to nurse arrest

An armed operation conducted by the National Guard, the Navy, and the Tabasco State Attorney General's Office took place at the Instituto de Seguridad Social del Estado de Tabasco (ISSET) in Villahermosa. At least 14 armed agents entered the hospital to execute a judicial arrest warrant for a nurse identified as Juana “N”.

The deployment caused significant alarm and fear among patients and staff, leading some individuals to flee the area due to concerns of a potential confrontation. The nurse was taken into custody in handcuffs and transferred from the facility.

Preliminary reports and official statements indicate the arrest is related to a personal legal matter involving the alleged failure to meet family assistance obligations (child support). The ISSET clarified that the incident is a private legal process and is not linked to medical negligence or professional irregularities within the institution. The hospital's union criticized the authorities for failing to notify administration or management of the operation prior to its execution.
