Armed pirates attack ferry boat in Amazonas

Armed criminals intercepted the ferry boat Rosa de Saron in the interior of Amazonas, near Alvarães, on Thursday night. Approximately ten men armed with rifles arrived in two high-speed boats to carry out the attack.

During the three-hour ordeal, the suspects reportedly fired shots and threatened more than 200 passengers. The criminals stole money, personal belongings, and merchandise. One crew member was reportedly subjected to electric shocks during the incident.

Security forces have launched searches in the Middle Solimões region to locate the suspects. Authorities are working to identify those involved in the robbery.
