Armed robbers raid women’s meeting in Nairobi’s Kayole, steal cash and phone

Two armed men entered Sheek’s Palace Salon in the Saika estate of Kayole, Nairobi, at about 3 p.m. on July 26. While a women’s “chama” group was holding its fortnightly meeting, the robbers pointed a pistol at the attendees, demanded valuables and fled with a Samsung Galaxy A17 mobile phone and 50,000 Kenyan shillings that had been placed on a table.

Police documented the scene, recovered CCTV footage that shows the attackers – one masked and armed, the other in a helmet – and launched a manhunt. Detectives said they are pursuing leads, and Nairobi police commander Issa Mohamud confirmed ongoing investigations and efforts to curb armed robberies in the city.
