Armed robbery at Cantinetta di Rignana restaurant in Greve in Chianti
An armed robbery occurred at the Cantinetta di Rignana, a restaurant located in an isolated area of Greve in Chianti, during the night between September 25 and 27.
According to reports, several hooded individuals entered the premises around midnight while the staff was closing. The attackers, armed with clubs and a handgun, threatened the occupants and physically assaulted those who did not comply. The owner's son was seriously injured during the incident, receiving blows to the head and being threatened at gunpoint. He was subsequently transported to the Santa Maria Annunziata hospital in Ponte a Niccheri for medical treatment.
While one account states the robbers escaped with 600 euros in cash, another report suggests the stolen amount was approximately 4,000 euros. Investigators from the Carabinieri of the Figline Valdarno Company are currently reviewing security footage and examining the scene to identify the perpetrators and their getaway vehicle. Authorities suspect a fourth accomplice may have been waiting outside in a car to facilitate the escape.
