Armed robbery at Il Molino jewellery shop injures owner's son

Four masked gunmen stormed the Biondino jewellery store in the Il Molino shopping centre near Naples on the afternoon of 26 June. The bandits smashed the display cases, seized a large amount of jewellery and fled in an SUV. During the robbery the 19‑year‑old son of the shop owner tried to intervene and was hit in the leg by a pistol round. He was taken to San Giuliano hospital but is not in life‑threatening condition.

Carabinieri secured the premises and recovered some of the stolen items that fell from the vehicle during the escape. The investigation is ongoing, with police reviewing surveillance footage and seeking witnesses to identify the perpetrators.
