Armed robbery attempt at Carrefour supermarket in Cassano all'Ionio, Italy

An armed group tried to rob the Carrefour supermarket in the centre of Cassano all'Ionio, Calabria. During the raid a gun was fired, but the bullet did not hit anyone and no injuries were reported. The assailants left the store empty‑handed and fled the scene.

Carabinieri units arrived within minutes, sealed off the area and began collecting evidence, including CCTV footage and witness statements. Investigators are analysing the material to identify the perpetrators and reconstruct their escape route.
