Armed robbery incidents reported in Arauca and Pereira

Authorities in Arauca, Colombia, captured two individuals following a violent robbery in the Femar pool sector. The suspects allegedly stole an iPhone 17 Pro Max, gold bracelets, and an Apple Watch during the early morning incident. Police implemented a lockdown plan that led to the arrests near the Fire Department. Investigators are looking into whether the suspects are part of a motorcycle-based group linked to other local thefts.

In the rural area of Pereira, armed men intercepted a group of foreign tourists engaged in birdwatching near the El Cedral sector. The assailants reportedly intimidated eight people and stole bags containing cameras, binoculars, telescopes, and mobile phones. The suspects fled on foot toward the mountainous region of Quindío. Due to a lack of cellular signal in the area, the report reached the Metropolitan Police approximately one hour after the incident occurred.
