Armed shootings in Culiacán kill one, wound two and damage a residence

On 6 June 2026, gunmen opened fire in the parking lot of a commercial plaza on Valle Alto boulevard in Culiacán, Sinaloa. A young man was shot dead inside his Nissan March and two other people were injured. The attackers fired from another vehicle, leaving multiple rifle casings at the scene, which were collected by state prosecutors.

The following day, 7 June, a separate armed assault was reported at a house in the Urbi Villa del Cedro neighborhood, at the corner of Paulonia street and Paseo del Sauce. Several shooters used AK‑47 and AR‑15 rifles to fire repeatedly at the façade. No one was injured; workers from the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) who were on the premises escaped unharmed. Police and military units secured the area and also recovered dozens of shell casings for investigation.
