Armenia appoints Anushik Avetyan to lead Tourism Committee

Anushik Avetyan has been appointed as the new president of the Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia. The appointment, made by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, is set to take effect on September 2, 2026.

Avetyan brings extensive experience in international economic cooperation, public policy, and investment. She previously served as the Deputy Minister of Economy, where she managed relations with the European Union and multilateral development institutions. Her professional background also includes leading the American Chamber of Commerce in Armenia and working with the Asian Development Bank.

In her new role, Avetyan aims to strengthen Armenia’s international brand and promote sustainable, inclusive growth within the tourism sector. Her priorities include enhancing the country’s global positioning, expanding cooperation with international partners, and showcasing Armenia’s diverse offerings in history, culture, nature, and gastronomy to encourage repeat visitors.
