Armenia becomes a major hub for US AI infrastructure
Armenia is emerging as a significant hub for American artificial intelligence infrastructure. The country currently hosts two operational AI data center facilities utilizing NVIDIA’s latest Blackwell GPUs.
Firebird AI, a San Francisco-based company, launched its flagship facility in Hrazdan in August 2026. The project, which saw investment expand from $500 million to $4 billion, aims to scale to more than 70,000 advanced NVIDIA chips and 300 MW of capacity by the end of 2027. To support local development, 20% of the facility’s computational resources are reserved for Armenian government agencies, research institutions, and startups, while 80% serves international clients, including firms like Perplexity.
A second facility, operated by Eleveight AI, opened in Gagarin in June 2026 with 512 NVIDIA Blackwell B300 GPUs. The company intends to scale this site to 40 MW of capacity. The growth is supported by Armenia’s technical expertise and abundant hydropower resources. The expansion follows a 2025 US-Armenia memorandum on semiconductors and AI, which facilitated the necessary US export licenses for advanced hardware.
