Turkey's intelligence chief meets Libyan Prime Minister to discuss unification

Ibrahim Kalin, head of Turkey's National Intelligence Organization (MIT), met with Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah in Tripoli to discuss the unification of Libya's eastern and western administrations. The discussions focused on merging competing governments and divided military structures to preserve Libya's territorial integrity.

Kalin reaffirmed Ankara's commitment to helping resolve disputes between the country's eastern and western regions, emphasizing that all parties must prioritize national unity. Dbeibah expressed gratitude for Turkey's efforts toward security and stability in Libya and stated his government's readiness to continue cooperation with Ankara.

The meeting coincided with the Libyan House of Representatives approving a maritime jurisdiction delimitation agreement with Turkey, a document previously rejected by the Libyan side. This agreement, originally signed in November 2019, defines the maritime zones for both nations in the Mediterranean Sea.
