Armenia holds local elections in four communities

Local elections have commenced across four communities in three Armenian provinces on September 27. Polling stations opened at 08:00, with vote counting scheduled to begin after polls close at 20:00.

In the Tumanyan community of the Lori region, council elections are being held under a proportional system. The Civil Contract Party is the sole candidate for the council, requiring more than 50% of the vote to assume leadership. Suren Tumanyan, the current leader and former Republic Party member, is the first candidate on the Civil Contract Party list.

In the Armavir region, Ferik is the only non-unified community, primarily inhabited by Yezidi residents. In the Kotayk region, the Arzni community is seeing competition for council seats, with 17 candidates vying for 9 positions. Meanwhile, in the Lermontovo community of Lori, both community leader and council elections are being conducted simultaneously.
